BUILDING STRONG MINDS & BODIES WITH TAEKWON-DO IN MAGILL, SA
TAEKWON-DO TRAINING & SELF-DEFENCE
At South Australia ITF Taekwon-Do, in Magill, SA, we’re passionate about helping people of all ages build confidence, discipline, and strength through authentic martial arts training. Our programmes are designed to go far beyond kicks and punches—focusing on practical self-defence, personal growth, and leadership development. Whether you’re brand new to martial arts or returning to the mats, you’ll find a welcoming, supportive environment where you can train at your own pace and feel right at home.
Our Taekwon-Do classes are structured around traditional ITF principles, combining proven techniques with modern training approaches. We emphasise respect, perseverance, and integrity in every session, ensuring students not only improve physically but also grow mentally. From improved coordination and flexibility to enhanced focus and resilience, our training delivers real benefits that extend into everyday life.
DEVELOPING CONFIDENCE, DISCIPLINE & LEADERSHIP
Taekwon-Do is more than just a physical activity—it’s a powerful tool for personal development. At our Magill dojang, we help students build confidence through consistent training, achievable goals, and positive encouragement. Over time, students develop discipline, self-control, and a strong sense of responsibility, all of which contribute to becoming confident and capable individuals.
For kids and teens, our programmes offer a structured environment where they can improve focus, respect, and social skills. Adults benefit just as much, gaining better stress management, increased energy, and a renewed sense of motivation. No matter your age or experience level, Taekwon-Do helps you become stronger in both body and mindset.
MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR – EXPERIENCE YOU CAN TRUST
South Australia ITF Taekwon-Do is led by Cher Liang Tay (Liang), whose journey into martial arts and fitness is both inspiring and relatable. Originally working in accountancy, Liang made the decision to pursue a healthier, more fulfilling path—transitioning into personal training and martial arts after experiencing the physical and mental toll of a sedentary lifestyle.
With over 20 years of Taekwon-Do experience, Liang has competed internationally and achieved outstanding results, including becoming a world champion in the 2020 ITF Taekwon-Do E Tournament. He is also a medallist in the 2017 Asia Open Championship and a multiple Australian national champion. His passion for continuous improvement sees him regularly attending seminars, competing overseas, and expanding his skills across other martial arts such as judo, wushu, and Tai Chi—bringing a well-rounded perspective to every class he teaches.

Mr. Tay is an extremely skilled instructor, not to mention a world champion in ITF Taekwondo. Thanks to his professionalism and strong moral compass, this academy has risen to be undoubtedly the best in the entire city. At that, he values quality over quantity and puts all his work in making sure his students can become the very best in the discipline, and has trained many gold medalists, both on a local and international scale.
